Sometimes you put differences aside and come together for the greater good. That was the big takeaway from Friday’s revival-meeting concert of “Mermaid Avenue,” the fin de siècle collaboration between English punk-folk hero Billy Bragg and American roots rock heroes Wilco that celebrated, revived and renovated the legacy of Woody Guthrie. It’s a legacy that couldn’t be more timely.
